People who travel "the traditional way" typically get a great deal on a trip about 1 in 5 times. Other times, they grit their teeth, spend days searching for a better deal, and accept expensive travel as a fact of life.

That used to be me. But now that I travel "The JGOOT Way" it's quite the opposite. I get a great deal 4 out of 5 trips, and only frustratingly pay market-rate 1 in 5 times.

However, the trip I'm on right now (in Cabo) is one of those 1-in-5 market-rate trips...

I'm here for a conference (and when you HAVE to be somewhere specific at a specific time - it's EXPONENTIALLY more challenging to get a good deal.)

And as much as I hate to admit it...

The only thing I can brag about with my flight here was that it was direct.

As far as price - I had to pay a lot more than most people paid.

But as I lay here in my $840/night ocean-front suite that I paid absolutely nothing for - I'm OK with it. :-)
