⚓ Captain’s Tip: Turn Your Balcony Into an Experience

If you booked a balcony… use it. Don’t just peek out once and forget about it. Morning coffee, sailaways without the chaos, late-night snacks or a dessert plate with ocean views—it’s basically your own private lounge. While everyone else is packed onto the pool deck, you’ve got a front-row seat to everything. Even one intentional “balcony moment” a day makes the trip feel way more elevated (and way more relaxing).

Royal Caribbean Unveils Hero of the Seas (Icon Class, 2027): Royal Caribbean International has revealed its next mega ship, Hero of the Seas, launching from Miami in August 2027. This Icon-class ship is designed as the ultimate family vacation at sea, featuring eight neighborhoods, the largest number of pools at sea, a massive water park with new raft slides, and nearly 30 dining venues. Every sailing will include a stop at Perfect Day at CocoCay, with Caribbean itineraries across both eastern and western routes.

Disney Reveals New Cruise Ship: Disney Believe (Coming 2027): Disney Cruise Line has announced its next ship, the Disney Believe, set to debut in late 2027 as part of the Wish class lineup. The ship will center around themes of dreams and possibilities, featuring experiences inspired by Encanto, Frozen, Moana, The Little Mermaid, and more. The announcement came from new CEO Josh D’Amaro on his first day, as Disney continues expanding its cruise fleet.

Norwegian Reverses Drink Policy at Great Stirrup Cay: Norwegian Cruise Line has confirmed that its beverage packages will continue to be honored on its private island, Great Stirrup Cay—scrapping earlier plans to charge extra for drinks ashore. Guests with Free at Sea packages will now enjoy a seamless “ship-to-shore” drink experience, alongside major island upgrades including a new pier, water park, lazy river, and heated pool.

AmaWaterways Launches “City Escapes” for Slower, Less Crowded Europe Travel: AmaWaterways is introducing a new City Escapes program for 2026–2027, designed for travelers who want more time in Europe’s top cities without the crowds. These reimagined river cruises feature longer stays, overnight docking, and slower-paced itineraries along the Seine, Rhine, and Danube—giving guests extended time in destinations like Paris, Vienna, and Amsterdam, plus added perks like upgrades and onboard credit for early bookings.

Celebrity River Cruises Unveils New Immersive Europe Program: Celebrity River Cruises is introducing a new destination discovery program for 2027–2028 designed to go beyond traditional shore excursions. The experience is built around four curated series, including locally guided storytelling tours, hands-on workshops with artisans, self-guided exploration using personalized digital maps, and exclusive “takeover” events at iconic European venues. Available across all itineraries and pre- and post-cruise stays in Prague, Budapest, and Amsterdam, the program focuses on deeper cultural connection, more flexibility, and unique experiences you can’t easily replicate on your own.

Royal Caribbean Bringing America’s Got Talent to Sea: Royal Caribbean International is debuting America’s Got Talent LIVE aboard Legend of the Seas in August 2026—marking the first time the hit show heads to sea. The production will feature a rotating lineup of performers like magicians, singers, and acrobats, alongside other major entertainment including Charlie and the Chocolate Factory, AquaTheater shows, and the largest ice arena at sea. The new Icon-class ship will sail the Mediterranean before repositioning to the Caribbean.

Carnival Introduces “Express Dining” for Faster Dinners: Carnival Cruise Line has rolled out a new Express Dining option, offering a full multi-course dinner in under an hour for smaller groups. Available nightly on select ships (with fleetwide expansion coming soon), the experience features a streamlined version of the main dining room menu—giving guests more flexibility to enjoy shows, activities, and everything else onboard without a long dinner commitment.
