RAKUTEN BIG DEAL WEDNESDAY Rakuten has expanding their weekly Wednesday Bonus indefinitely! Below are the Wednesday Bonuses through October:

AMEX PLATINUM REFRESH American Express rolled out their refreshed American Express Platinum card on September 18th. Along with an increased annual fee ($895) there are also new earning and benefits:

$400 ($100/quarter) Resy credit

$600 ($300 biannual) Amex Travel hotel credit

$120 Uber One credit

$300 ($25/month) Digital credit

$300 ($75/quarter) Lululemon credit

$200 Oura Ring credit

🔍💵 EARNING CASE STUDIES 🔍💵

This month I wanted to showcase some great examples of successful stacks within the JGOOT community. Hopefully these will give you some ideas on how to implement these strategies into your habits!

Scott is getting in on the Resy stack with the Amex Gold card we recommend most JGOOTers have. He is getting his $50 credit while earning 5x MR via Rakuten Dining and 4x via Amex Gold. This appears to have been a big dinner and Scott walked away with a boatload of MR points.

Donna has also been using the classic Resy/Portal stack. She is taking advantage of the Amex Platinum’s $100/quarter Resy credit (any restaurant that offers reservations through Resy) with Bilt restaurant’s portal. Donna took another step by splitting the bill so that only the first $100 went on the Platinum (1x, but again a Resy credit) and the rest on her Amex Gold (4x). 100 MR and 300 Bilt for FREE, then 4x MR and 3x Bilt for the rest of the bill! A+ Stack!

Anita shows how using tools like Rakuten’s Search bar and Cardpointers turn routine purchases into major stacks. $50 off via an Amex Offer, $30 off via coupon, 2x from Rakuten, and 1x from Amex Gold. This is how we teach you how to shop!

Mario combined a good Rakuten multiplier (10x) with the Platinum credit. The recent changes to the Amex Platinum give users $75/quarter Lululemon credit. This stacks with offers and portals. He was also wise to make sure to get this purchase in before the end of the quarter! Other credit card credits, like Saks Fifth Avenue, can be stacked the same way.

Carolyn is asking about the potential for another great stack. 10x at Office Depot likely stacked with a Chase Ink Cash will earn her 10 MR points and 5 Chase Ultimate Rewards (UR) points for every dollar of “more expensive than gold” printer ink. Stacks like this really reduce the sting for these everyday purchases that just feel so expensive.
